Suspect in Oregon Quintuple Homicide Found Dead in Washington State After Apparent Suicide
A multi-agency manhunt spanning state lines came to a grim end after the primary suspect in a horrific Oregon mass murder was found dead inside a parked vehicle in western Washington.
The suspect, identified by law enforcement as 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker, was discovered dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound behind a Safeway grocery store in Enumclaw, Washington—roughly 50 miles southeast of Seattle.
The discovery follows a disturbing investigation that began early Saturday morning in rural Forest Grove, Oregon, roughly 30 miles west of Portland. Emergency crews responding to a reported vehicle fire on a residential property uncovered the remains of five human victims alongside several dead domestic animals.
Washington County Sheriff Caprice Massey confirmed that detectives quickly linked Parker to the crime scene, tracking his movements north into Washington state before local police located his vehicle.
“We do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community,” Sheriff Massey stated during a press briefing. “This was our suspect, and he died in Enumclaw. In my 22 years in law enforcement, I have not witnessed a crime scene quite this complex.”
Detectives have officially classified the deaths as a quintuple homicide, emphasizing that the attack was targeted rather than a random act of violence. While authorities confirmed Parker knew the victims, officials have not yet disclosed the exact nature of their relationship or a potential motive driving the killings.
