“Mum’s ability to sort of jump into any situation,” was something that Beatrice admired, adding, “there was always an adventure to be had.”

“It’s so fun reflecting and looking back to say, even some of the harder times through divorce and through challenging moments. There was always an adventure and she had an ability to kind of jump into things with two feet.”

Beatrice said that was an amazing early memory to have.

“It’s this sort of way with which she just brought that joy to moments,” Beatrice added.

Prince Andrew and Fergie separated in 1992 after six years of marriage, officially getting divorced in 1996.

Beatrice was eight years old and Eugenie was six years old at the time of the separation.

It was believed that Prince Andrew’s long stints away for his duties as a naval officer caused a strain on the marriage and caused it to break down.

In 2007, Fergie clarified in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that the reason for their divorce was, ”I wanted to work; it’s not right for a princess of the royal house to be commercial, so Andrew and I decided to make the divorce official so I could go off and get a job.”

Since 2008, the former couple have resided in separate wings of the Royal Lodge together, describing themselves as the “happiest divorced couple.”
