Octomom Natalie Nadya Suleman reveals how much she spends on groceries a month

When it comes to grocery shopping for her family, Natalie ‘Nadya’ Suleman, known to most as ‘Octomom‘, has learned to shop smart.

The mum of 14 – including octuplets – revealed the eye-watering amount she spends at the grocery store and admitted she is stocking up every other day.

“We find a lot of things on sale. I budget really well, and we all eat very, very, healthfully,” Suleman told US Weekly.

The 49-year-old said her most recent bill from Gelson’s, a supermarket chain, was $US366.94 (approximately $576.89).

“I spend that maybe every other day,” she explained.

“So it’s still $4,000 ($6288) or $5,000 ($7860) a month on groceries on average.

“And now, if we went above and beyond and we got extras and extra food, we could easily be $10,000 ($15,721) a month. Because of the budgeting, it’s about half.”

Suleman explained the family mostly eats plant-based whole foods, trying to avoid meat, dairy and eggs.

Those alone would add thousands onto her grocery bill monthly.

She said it’s just food, rent and bills on repeat for her, but the cost of feeding her family has gone up as her children have grown up.
