The 10 most common dog name and breed combinations in Australia

Dogs names these days are a mix of human ones and more traditional canine monikers.

But somehow along the way some names seemed to become aligned with particular dog breeds, like somehow you bring home a kelpie and name it Red or Bluey.

In celebration of National Puppy Day on March 23, Petbarn analysed Greencross Vets’ patient lists to find out which breeds in Australia are most commonly given the same name.
