A Woolworths shopper has found themselves looking twice after spotting a rogue item on a shelf among the store’s apple juice offering.
“There is an imposter among us,” they wrote on Reddit’s ‘Woolworths’ thread.
“Came across this at the local Woolies. Can you spot it? I guess someone tried a funny.”

In the photo shared on the online forum a lone bottle of Coles-brand apple juice can be seen surrounded by the Woolworths-brand items.
There are two possible explanations for this.
1. Someone put it there for a laugh. Although, this seems unlikely.
2. More likely – there was a mix-up by the supplier.

Woolworths declined to comment when contacted by 9honey Money.
However Coles, clearly seeing the funny side of the situation, said via a spokesperson: “We can see from this photo that a rogue Coles-branded 2L apple juice bottles has taken an unexpected journey onto the wrong retailer’s shelves!”
They confirmed that while this is “an isolated case”, they are “investigating with our supplier – who provides this product to both retailers – to understand how this happened and ensure it remains a one-off occurrence”.
With their comment comes confirmation both Woolworths and Coles, and perhaps even Aldi, share the same suppliers for some items, which makes sense.
After all, how many juice or apple juice factories can there be?
Not to mention cereal companies, tinned tomatoes, fruits, tomato sauce … any of the many, many items supermarkets likely source from the same factories.

Redditors agree.
“Same company makes the “juice” for both Woolies and Coles,” one said.
“Once when I used to work at Coles, I opened a box that had Coles brand laundry detergent on the box, it actually had Aldi brand liquid inside.”
How supermarkets have changed over the years
“Just pick it up and leave with it! ‘I brought this in with me, you obviously don’t sell this brand here’,” another joked.
Others were left frustrated by the Reddit post, unable to spot the rogue item, like it was an optical illusion of sorts.

“Took me a while to find it,” one said.
“I still can’t find it,” added another.
“Can’t tell you how many times I opened a box of fresh cuts and there was Coles or Aldi branded salads inside,” another supermarket worker shared.
