Prince William and Kate Middleton news: Pet dog Orla welcomes puppies

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales have welcomed some new additions to the Wales family.

The family’s beloved pet dog Orla has given birth to four puppies, expanding the royal family. 

A source told The Sun, ”Mother and babies are doing well.”

“Everyone loves a new royal baby news and so new royal puppies run very close,” they said.

The news has not yet been officially confirmed, and it is not clear whether the pups will stay with the family yet.

However, the source does add that the Wales children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – are very excited by their newest siblings.

Clue towards motive for Louis’ mocking act

The family was gifted Orla, a black cocker spaniel, by Catherine’s brother James Middleton after his own dog Luna welcomed “six little healthy pups” in 2020.

She made her debut two years later in Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday portrait, with her name then being revealed.

Recently she was featured alongside the family in Catherine’s video announcing she had finished chemotherapy and was cancer-free.

On April 11, a solo picture of the new canine mother was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram page, celebrating National Pet Day.

“Celebrating the animals who bring so much joy, companionship and love to our lives this #NationalPetDay,” they wrote as the caption.

Before Orla joined the family, the family had a beloved pet – another black cocker spaniel named Lupo.

He passed away soon after Orla came into their lives in November 2020.

Lupo was also a gift from Middleton, with the author sharing that it was a “belated wedding present” in 2011 in his memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life.
