Princess Maria Carolina de Bourbon has been hospitalised following a serious motorcycle accident.
The European royal shared the incident on social media, saying she is “very lucky to be alive” following the incident.
Princess Carolina, 21, the daughter of Italian royalty, shared photos from hospital as well as one before the motorcycle accident.

The photos show the royal in a hospital bed in a neck brace with scratches visible on her face.
The full extent of her injuries isn’t known.

“I’m incredibly lucky to be alive,” she wrote alongside the photos.
“I crashed headfirst into a wall whilst riding a motorcycle and ended up in reanimation in the Intensive Care Unit,” she continued.
Princess Carolina said surviving this “was nothing short of a miracle”.
“I wanted to share my own experience as I’ve realised now more than ever that motorcycles are powerful and thrilling but also unforgiving,” she explained.
“Please ride with care. Wear full protection, especially a proper helmet,” Princess Maria said. “Mine saved my life.”
The royal ended her post by thanking medical staff at Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace “for their expert care during those critical days, and to the emergency medical team and first responders on the scene, whose quick and decisive actions in those first moments made all the difference”.

Princess Carolina, 21, is the daughter of Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.
She and her sister Princess Maria Chiara, 20, were born into the former House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, which ruled Southern Italy and Sicily for over a century until the family was deposed in 1861.
Theirs has been lives of extreme wealth. Both attended private lessons with personal tutors and later the International Cambridge Educational.

They can both also can speak, read and write fluently in six languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian) according to the royal family’s website.
After graduating, both princesses pursued charitable and humanitarian projects as well as exploring personal careers in fashion and the arts.

She posed with a massive four-tier birthday cake for photos which she later posted on Instagram, alongside other videos and snaps from the weekend.
