King Charles news: King’s most lavish coronation gifts revealed, including Rolls-Royce

King Charles received plenty of lavish gifts for his Coronation in 2023, but there’s one that really stands out.

He was gifted a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II, presented to him by the the King of Bahrain, and it’s quite the lavish present.

The luxury vehicle costs £355k (AUD$742k) and now forms part of the royal state fleet, according to The Sun.

Charles, 76, received many impressive gifts from around the world upon his coronation in 2023.

The monarch marked the second anniversary of his coronation on May 6.

An official record of coronation gifts published by the Royal Family also lists King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain gifted Charles a decorative clock.

The King of Bahrain last visited the UK to mark his Silver Jubliee, with Charles and Camilla receiving their special guest at Windsor Castle with the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards out in full form on the lawn.

The families have enjoyed a long friendship over the decades, including with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip before their deaths in 2022 and 2021 respectively.

Australia’s gift to Charles upon his coronation was a AUD$10,000 donation in the monarch’s name to the Friends of the Western Ground Parrot group, in Western Australia, to assist in their conservation efforts.

The endangered bird is found in the remote Cape Arid National Park and Nuytsland Nature Reserve, to the east of Esperance, in southern WA.

“His Majesty King Charles III has long championed conservation and sustainability, so I am pleased to mark his coronation with a national contribution to the conservation of the Western Ground Parrot,” Prime Minister Albanese said.

“Known as Kyloring by the Noongar people, the Western Ground Parrot is listed as critically endangered.

“This contribution will complement other conservation efforts underway to protect the Kyloring.”

Many of the gifts Charles received were cultural in nature.

President Katalin Novak of Hungary gave Charles two pairs of boots upon his coronation. Each pair featured the royal cyphers of both Charles and Queen Camilla.

The President of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera, presented a wooden chair carved with animal figures to King Charles for the occasion.

The design was said to reflect the culture and natural heritage of the country.
