MTV’s 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis shares her grief following son Weston Owen Gosa Jr.’s tragic death at 16

Star of 16 and Pregnant Whitney Purvis has spoken out following the tragic death of her son Weston Owen Gosa Jr. at the age of 16 and shared her heartbreak and grief.

Purvis, 33, told US outlets that she’s still in a state of shock and said she can’t stop thinking about her son after his death four days ago on June 2.

“I can’t imagine going on after this,” the reality star told the publication.

“I’ve never cried this hard in my life, to the point where my eyeballs are swollen.”

She also detailed the horrific moment she found out her son had died after receiving a call from his father while out, which she didn’t pick up, only to get another call and an urgent “911 text”.

“When I answered the phone, I could hear him crying before he spoke, and I knew it was going to be bad, and he told me, and I was just in shock,” Purvis said.

She said after the heartbreaking call she “just screamed to the top of my lungs”.

Purvis shared news of her son’s tragic death in a heartbreaking Facebook post, saying Weston’s death was her “worst nightmare come true”.

“This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair,” she wrote.

“He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real.

“Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling.

“I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can’t go on without you. Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon.”

Weston Jr.’s stepmother Amy Gosa added in her own post that they had tried to wake him up in the morning but he was “not breathing”.

“We do not know the cause, they will do an autopsy soon but all we know is we got up this morning around 7 am and tried to wake him up, he was not breathing, we attempted cpr and called an ambulance,” Gosa wrote.

An official cause of death was not given but she added, “He had several health issues as well as diabetes.”

Purvis and ex Weston Lewis Gosa Sr. welcomed their late son on the MTV show, 16 and Pregnant in 2009. They also share a son named River.
