Supermarket shopping bags couldn’t get any cuter if they tried, and I am obsessed with them.
I’m obsessed with anything that distracts me from the seemingly ever increasing cost of groceries. Prices just keep on going up and up and up and up.
So, why not place our overpriced grocery items in a cute shopping bag that we can use as an everyday tote bag! And they cost a little as 99 cents!

Here are the best ones I found during my most recent supermarket shopping adventures.
Coles
I raced to Coles first because I wanted to check out the limited-edition $3 Miffy shopping bag. But they were sold out at the three Coles locations I visited!
Still, I found so many other cute options.
Coles does a great range of standard reusable shopping bags as well as those for chilled items.

On the left we have a large standard reusable bag which costs $2.50 and fits plenty of groceries in it. It is pale pink with love heart designs and I would definitely use this one as an everyday bag.
On the right we have a fun chiller bag with happy flowers all over it, daisies I think. That one also costs $2.50. I’d be so happy to use this one to bring my work lunch into the office.

Here we have two more standard grocery bags in great designs, flowers with happy faces on them for the left. On the right we have one with giant carrots on it, which is always fun to fill with chocolate and biscuits instead of fruits and vegetables!
Although seeing this one does make me want to buy carrots and other salad ingredients.

Both cost $2.50. But I probably wouldn’t use the carrots bag as an every day bag, but definitely would do with the happy flowers!
Coles works with a range of artists for their shopping bag designs.
Woolies
Woolies has some equally cute reusable shopping bags on offer and once again, these have been created with the help of local artists, including the Art Bag collection created with Australian artist Ryhia Dank.

Let’s start with some of their chiller bag designs. Here we have another choice that inspires the purchasing of delicious and healthy fruits and vegetables.

Also on offer, one with images of watermelon and salads and strawberries on it, and fairy bread! An nice combo of treats.
These cost $3 each.

And I did find designed by Ryhia Dank that I love and would definitely use as an everyday tote bag.
Aldi
At Aldi, they had a great range of fun reusable grocery bag designs, designed in collaboration with local artists including George Rose and Lynn Bremner.

Here we have two fun designs, both of which would do well as everyday bags.
And these are a bargain buy at just $0.99 cents.
Also, here’s my top tip for using reusable shopping bags. Place them in the boot of your car as soon as you have unpacked your groceries.
If you hang them on a chair to do it later, that’s when you’ll come undone.

As great as reusable shopping bags are, they only help the environment if we remember to use them! And why put off what we can do now, to later.
Your future grocery shopping self will thank you for your preparedness.
