Prince Joachim addresses return to Denmark after years abroad in the US

Prince Joachim of Denmark has shared a “desire to come home” after years of living abroad in the United States.

The royal, who is the son of Margrethe II and the younger brother of King Frederik X, moved to Washington D.C in 2023 with his wife and two youngest children to take up a position at the Danish Embassy under the Ministry of Defence.

Two years on from their move, the Danish royal has opened up about a potential return.

“I miss all of them all four of them”.

“But they’ve been living in Paris for the past four years so I think we’ve grown sort of used to this abroad family relationship, although it’s much further away now.”
