King Charles sends Father’s Day message after prince Harry talked about reconciliation

King Charles has shared a post for Father’s Day in the UK, paying tribute to his late father Prince Philip and Bruce Shand, the late father of Queen Camilla.

The post, shared on the British royal family’s official social media accounts, included a photo of King Charles and sister Princess Anne as toddlers, being pushed on a swing by Prince Philip.

It also included a photo of Queen Camilla and her dad on her wedding day in 2005.

But there’s no mention of his own sons, which comes after Prince Harry’s claims that they are no longer on speaking terms.

The caption to the post read: “To all Dads everywhere, we wish you a happy Father’s Day today.”

Father’s Day in the UK falls on June 15, the same date it is observed in the US. In Australia, we mark Father’s Day on September 7.

Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021, at the age of 99. Shand passed away on June 11, 2006, at the age of 89.

King Charles’ Father’s Day post comes just weeks after his youngest son, Prince Harry revealed he is no longer in touch with his father.

“Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course they will never forgive me for lots of things,” Harry, 40, told the BBC.

“But you know, there is. I would love reconciliation with my family. I’ve always, you know, there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

During the interview Harry revealed that his father is currently not talking to him.

“As I said, life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” Harry said.

“You know, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to. It would be nice to reconcile.”

Prince Harry spoke to the BBC after losing the final appeal in his fight for full-time security during trips to the UK.

He cited a lack of support from his family during his fight and said it isn’t safe to bring wife Meghan and children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, to the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the US in 2020 after resigning as senior working royals.

In celebration of Father’s Day, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared their own special message.

Alongside a stunning photo of William with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, the caption simply read, “Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!) We love you! G, C & L.”

The after, a black and white snap of the four of them laying in the garden laughing.

The images both relaxed and sharing a relatable side of the royals, adding a bit of fun to the post.
