Federal Budget 2026: Newspaper front pages

In The Age, Captain Anthony Albanese and his first mate appear to be putting aside some heavy budgetary burdens to keep their boat afloat in the face of a skyrocketing wave of inflation (we’re guessing the inflation dragon was truly slain in last year’s budget because it’s nowhere in sight). The NDIS, CGT, trusts and negative gearing are getting the old swell, but Suburban Rail Loop funding is firmly locked in the captain’s chest.
