A bulldog’s brown spot reveals another animal in built-in optical illusion

A dog owner has been alerted to an optical illusion on his bulldog‘s body, prompting the internet to chime in on what it looks like.

A TikToker pointed out the shape she saw in the outline of Pancake’s brown fur to the pooch’s owner who runs Pancake’s TikTok page.

“I think it’s her alter ego Credit to @Esmeralda Salgado for noticing it!” the dog owner captioned the TikTok video

“Someone noticed Pancake’s brown spot is shaped like a dog’s body and head and now I can’t unsee it,” the text on the clip read.

When you look at Pancake from one side you can definitely see the outline of another canine, complete with ears and a snout.

The illusion is so clear, those who watched the video could see a specific dog breed in the brown shape.

“He aspires to be a classic Doberman,” one said.

“He has a Doberman watching his back,” a Pancake fan wrote.

“It looks like a Doberman to me. I would name him bacon or syrup. He definitely needs his own name,” commented a dog lover.

“Doberman is what I see,” another said.

But there were plenty of other people who spotted a completely different animal.

“It kind of resembles a horse also,” a woman said.

“Or a baby horse laying down,” another said.

Others shared the images they can see in the markings on their own dog’s bodies.

“Awww. My English bull dog has the Nike Symbol,” a woman said.

“That’s so cool, my dog has an ear, that looks like an elephant!” one commented.

“Our bully Gunner’s spot looks like a person’s face lol,” a dog owner wrote.

Meanwhile, some found the whole thing hilarious but noticed that Pancake’s side eye expression made it seem like she wasn’t comfortable with us all staring at her so closely.

“OMG put a GOOGLY EYE sticker on him , I BEG YOU,” a woman asked, which was obliged by pancake’s owner.

“Oh no… now I can’t unsee it either! Plus I can’t stop staring!!” another said.

“Pancake giving you the side eye for talking about him to complete strangers and he doesn’t like that,” one commented.

Pancake is a three-year-old English bulldog whose TikTok page has 6.8 million likes and 97,200 followers.

There is also Pancake merchandise available including shirts and mugs, though none featuring her from the angle that shows the now-famous optical illusion.
