Aston Villa: Prince William’s four-word message to reporters after night out at football match

Prince William enjoyed a night out at the football with his mates in Birmingham, getting animated as his beloved Aston Villa secured a win.

After watching the 3-0 victory over Club Brugge KV at Villa Park to land a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, the Prince of Wales had words for reporters at the end of the night.

Giving a four-word message as he left the stadium delighted, the royal confirmed he’d be at the next game, in France.

“See you in Paris,” he said.

The 42-year-old was seen rugged up in a khaki jacket with blue jeans and a team scarf around his neck, with three of his four mates dressed identically.

Prince William watched the match intently inside the box and was spotted cheering, clapping, punching the air and giving a double thumbs up throughout the game.

At one point, Wills even grabbed his friend’s face in delight at a goal.

The last time the royal was in Birmingham, he bought a round of beers for Aston Villa fans he spotted in a pub before the club’s Premier League match against Everton.

Prince William spent 30 minutes chatting with the group before they headed to the game.

The Prince of Wales is often seen cheering on his favourite team from the box at games, sometimes with his eldest son, Prince George, by his side.

It’s not known if the 11-year-old will join him for the upcoming game –against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes stadium on April 9 – making the trip to Europe with his dad as he has done in the past.

Prince William, the former Football Association (FA) president is now the royal patron of the association and earlier this week tried his hand at refereeing.

He took part in an FA referee training course at Sporting Khalsa FC at Aspray Arena in Willenhall, England earlier in the week.
