Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon has revealed she suffered two miscarriages before falling pregnant with her “miracle” first child at aged 44.

The singer announced last month she’s expecting her first child with husband Peter Cho after undergoing ”years of sometimes quite painful IVF”.

Now, in a new interview, the star has opened up about her heartbreaking losses.

”The whole process made me truly appreciate that having a baby is a miracle,” the British pop star told The Mirror.

McClarnon, who was one of the original members of the ’90s girl group Atomic Kitten, shared the couple started IVF early in their relationship.

The pair had three failed embryo transfers in 2022.

After the third, the singer said she was “really quite sick and I was in a dark hole”.

The pair then had two miscarriages towards the end of last year.

“I said I was ‘done’ after the last one, and Peter was absolutely on board with that, he didn’t say anything other than, ‘This is your body and I’ll support whatever you decide you want,’ which was a huge thing for me,” she recounted.

“I felt so bad emotionally, it was really tough.”

“So many have been through exactly what I went through and worse.

“I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those who already help others understand or deal with all that comes with IVF and loss after so much hope.”

McClarnon is best known for being in the British all-girl band Atomic Kitten, which was founded in 1998.

The group started out with McClarnon, Heidi Range and Kerry Katona.

Natasha Hamilton replaced Range in 1999.

Jenny Frost then replaced Katona in 2001.
