Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon has announced she is pregnant with her first child after “years of sometimes quite painful IVF“.
McClarnon, 44, an original member of the British all-girl group, shared the news on Instagram in a sweet video post.
The video begins by showing McClarnon sitting on a park bench with her back to the camera, before standing to reveal her pregnant belly.

Music is playing in the background and McClarnon is smiling widely.
“I started to record a video of me just telling you but I got too emotional so I thought I’d just hide behind this little announcement instead,” reads the caption.

“I just can’t believe we’re here,” she continued.
“So many have been through exactly what I went through and worse.
“I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those who already help others understand or deal with all that comes with IVF and loss after so much hope.
“I’ve been a part of some beautifully supportive communities. I’m so grateful. I am so grateful!”

Her caption was peppered with love hearts.
Her fellow Atomic Kitten stars Natasha Hamilton and Jenny Frost took to the comments to congratulate her.
Hamilton commented: “Literally couldn’t be any happier for you both! After all you’ve been through, this little miracle is everything.”
“The best news ever …. You have been through it girl but never lost faith in what you knew was meant to be. Beyond happy for you both,” Frost wrote.

McClarnon and husband Peter Cho got married two years ago.
The singer shared the news at the time, taking to Instagram to write: “A few days ago Peter & I tied the knot surrounded by some of the people we love and care for (and little Bean – our dog) and I wanted to share this lovely picture with you from our day.
“We are so grateful to everyone that was there, especially some that travelled from all across the world to be there with us (Australia, LA, Hong Kong, Ibiza…)
“And finally… Dearest online friends that worked out what day it was, I just wanted to thank you for your lovely messages, you’ve been so kind
“A dear friend said ‘You could see the love from the moon that day’ and that’s exactly how it felt.”
Celebrities who have shared their IVF journeys
In 2022 McClarnon shared a post saying she had been “feeling really ‘yuk’ (that’s one of the words) for the past 5 months as I’m going through a lot with my body”.
“My partner and I are on our fertility journey (IVF) and it’s not been easy,” she said at the time, admitting she’s “a mess”.
She said she felt “uncomfortable sharing but it’s done now”, promising to share more.

McClarnon continued to share her IVF journey, culminating with her happy news.
British all-girl band Atomic Kitten first found fame in 1998 with the hit single Whole Again with it’s three original band members, Heidi Range, Liz McClarnon and Kerry Katona.
Range left in 1999 and was replaced by Natasha Hamilton. Katona left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Jenny Frost.

The band reunited in the mid-2000s alongside other British bands for the ITV2 series, with Katona rejoining the group for the project. Frost was unable to join due to her pregnancy at the time.
Atomic Kitten is no longer together, with all members now concentrating on solo projects.
