A concerned sibling has called out their sister over her controversial baby name plans.

“My sister is wack and naming her baby after tv shows, help,” they shared on Reddit’s ‘Tragedeigh’ thread.

They explained their sister is pregnant and when asked if she had any names in mind, and well, she does and they’re very unusual.

“One thing to know about my sister is that she is a huge movie buff, and is naming her baby after her favorite tv shows and book series (namely Naruto, Game of Thrones, and I Am Number Four),” they continued before adding a plea.

“Please help. I genuinely wish I was joking. This kid will be bullied.”

The post included a screenshot of their text conversation where the sister explained her baby name ideas.

“My sister won’t listen to me, since I’m 15 years younger than she is, and thinks I’m just being a judgmental teenager,” they added in the post.

In the screenshot of their baby name chat, the concerned sibling asked, “Oh cool Which tv shows?” about the name inspiration.

To which the sister replied, “Naruto and Game of Thrones. I also did a book series because we met at the book club in town.”

“Oh, uhhh, what’s the name,” the sibling then asked.

“Hinata Daeneries Six,” they proudly replied.

“Ohh. Are you sure?” The sibling responded.

“Yes, absolutely,” their sister wrote.

“I was also thinking to use Aziraphale from Good Omens as a middle name, but I haven’t told James yet.”

Now, while the names do represent something that she loves and has meaning to her, the people of Reddit didn’t hold back.

“Show her this thread after 24hrs,” one Redditer suggested. “If she gets her wish, that kid’s future chances of success are at least cut in half. The scars of bullying with hang on her like an anchor.”

“Husband needs to interfere ASAP,” another commented.

“She knows babies aren’t fan fiction right?” one asked.

“People STILL haven’t learned to not name their kid after the GoT character?! Hey, I love tv shows and anime myself, but I’ll be damned if I name any future offspring something so on the nose dumb,” one Redditer shared.

“When I was pregnant with my second kid I wanted to use Cullen if I ended up with a boy. Luckily, I had a girl because the very next year Twilight came out and I know everyone would have thought we named him after Edward and #TeamCullen instead of just liking a good Irish name,” one relieved parent said.

“My husband’s cousin named their son Ben after Obi wan Kenobi. A reasonable alternative,” another posted.

“I do have a friend with a kid named Arya, which, to be fair is a name I heard long before GoT.”

In a further plot twist, the concerned sibling posted an update, saying they’d shown their sister the Reddit thread and their sister was very upset.

“Her husband also knows about the name,” they added. “He is doing nothing.”

“I am frankly APPALLED by my sister and her choice of name for her future daughter. My parents are currently trying to talk her out of it. idk why she’s so dead set on this name, but wtv.”

Slow clap for their valiant efforts.
