Barack Obama’s response after accidentally photobombing family’s portrait session

A family who experienced a surprise presidential ‘photobomb’ during a family day out has now received a response from the former president in question.

The family was at Tidal Basin in Washington DC for a photoshoot when they ushered their children Portia, four, and Belle, 20 months, into the shot.

The parents posed their children in front of the cherry blossom trees, making for a lovely snap.

The family shared their experience on Instagram.

“Look who strolled by in our picture for our family Cherry Blossom photo shoot!” they shared on Instagram.

“Story time! It’s the kids turn to take a photo together and Damien is saying something to me. I’m just focused on Preston not running towards the water (peak mom moment).

“After that shoot was done I pick Preston up and asked Damien ‘what were you saying?’ He goes ‘that was President Obama who just walked by’ and looks his direction. I was like whaaaaat?!”

The mum ran to photographer Briana Inell of Briana Inell Photography, asking if she had captured the president in the background of the photos and she had, twice.

“She scrolls through and BOOM there is it! The perfect shot!”

Virginia described the story as “one to remember and the picture is a family heirloom (literally).”

“And nope, we did not bother him on his much needed peaceful stroll. We were featured on the news today. Such an epic core memory formed for our entire family,” she added.

The post quickly went viral, with local news channels picking up the story.

Eventually, Obama himself became aware of the accidental encounter.
