“I was going to say cupcake but then I realised that Muffins’ middle name,” another added.

Bluey’s middle name is inspired by her paternal grandmother’s name. (Outright Games)
Evidently, the name is inspired by her paternal grandmother’s name. One commenter shared, “They call Bandit’s mum Chris in the handstand episode. I assume she’s named after her.”
In turn, it is revealed throughout the series that Bluey’s dad Bandit’s middle name is Custard, and that her friend Muffin’s middle name is Cupcake.
Some were disappointed by the reveal of the name, with one commenter saying, “I’m more upset it’s a regular name rather than something like Carrot or Cruller. Cause you have Muffin Cupcake & Bandit Custard. Christine doesn’t fit!”

Many parents, including Today host Sylvia Jeffreys, are taking valuable lessons away from the children’s show.

As soon as her husband Bandit comes home she hands him the apron and said she needs just 20 minutes of alone time.

Genevieve Muir from Connected Parenting explained why the scene was so touching for parents.
“Our kids don’t need to understand our need for a break. In fact, their job is to want and need us 24/7,” she says.
“What boundaries are is our ability to say, ‘I can love you to the moon and back and still need to do this thing for me’, and that might be going out with my friends or just having a shower on my own. I need a break.”

“What we’re looking for is for that partnership, that ability to tap your partner out and be interchangeable in our parenting and if not even a partner, that village to be able to step in and support kids and understand that it’s not only a want, but a need for caregivers to need to step out and have a break”.
