Donna Jordan death: YouTube star’s last video interrupted by husband who tells fans she died

Fans of YouTube star Donna Jordan were confused when her latest sewing tutorial for a drop diamond quilt was abruptly interrupted by her husband. However, what he had to share was not good news.

“I’m Matt Jordan and this video will end right here,” he said, sharing that he and Donna’s son James was unable to put together an ending for it as Donna had fallen ill and “unfortunately on March 14th at about 4 a.m in the morning, Donna passed away.”

“Donna has been battling an illness for a few years now and the last three months it got more acute and and she needed more treatments,” Matt shared.

He shared the story of their business, Jordan Fabrics, telling fans that he and Donna met when they were 16 years old and she has been sewing ever since, with the business based in Oregon in the US running for about 50 years.

Donna, who died aged 66, accrued around 707,000 subscribers on their YouTube account, with the last video being viewed 453,654 times and counting.

“I just want to tell you that Donna loved what she did she she couldn’t believe that she could make money cutting quilts, making quilts, and teaching people how to do them.,” Matt, 67, said.

“It was such a blessing to her and I hope a blessing to you all,” he said as he teared up.

“We just will miss her greatly here and she was a great for me, she was a great wife, a great business partner, a great mother.”

Matt even shared how the YouTube channel would be going forward, telling fans, “We will continue to bring you content of all kinds and we are looking forward to that. In the meantime we will just honor Donna for the person she was.

“I’m just so happy and blessed honestly to have her be a part of my life and I hope you all enjoyed her in your life also.”

The video ended on a montage of sweet family photos.

Donna’s son James also shared a tribute, writing in the comment section of the video, “I filmed my mum on a cell phone for 8+ years and truly enjoyed spending every minute with her. She was such a caring, funny person full of joy and had such a passion for quilting. We loved sharing everything with all of you.”

Commenters shared their condolences to the family as well as their own tributes.

“I cried for a lady I never met but felt like I knew from the many tutorials I have watched. My sympathy to the Jordan family. She will be deeply missed,” one wrote.
