Erin and Niamh Evans thought they had lost their stuffed penguin forever when a Qantas Cabin Crew member responded to their post

Everyone had that one toy as a child that had to come everywhere with them, whether it was a quick trip to the grocery store or a major overseas jaunt.

So, everyone also knows – or can at least imagine – how devastating it was to misplace that teddy, often leading parents to sleepless nights with one very distraught child.

Unfortunately, a lot of the time when those ever-so-precious toys are misplaced they are never seen again. But not for this lucky family.

Watch the video above.

Erin Evans and her daughter Niamh lost their beloved Little Penguin toy after leaving it on a Qantas flight to Singapore.

Thanks to the power of social media and one very kind flight attendant named Belinda, Little Penguin was returned home – but not without some wild adventures on her way.

Erin told Today both she and Niamh were “very devastated” when they realised the toy had been left behind on the flight.

”We were trying to get her back via a mum on one of the Facebook groups and unfortunately she had a bit of an incident on the way to Singapore,” she explained.

“So we put out another post on Facebook and tried to pick up Little Penguin and a Qantas cabin crew member reached out and said that she was going to Singapore the very next day and would try get Little Penguin.”

Erin said Belinda was thankfully able to pick up Little Penguin, taking her on ”a bit of a vacation around Singapore” before returning her home.

And it seems Erin wasn’t lying about an adventure.

Photos show Little Penguin sitting in a fancy hotel room, flying a plane and even getting to experience business class – but not without Niamh very safely pointing out that someone had forgotten to put a seatbelt on her stuffed friend.

”It was really lovely,” Erin said of the sweet gesture, adding that it had restored her faith in humanity.

“I couldn’t believe it, I think I was probably more emotional about it than [Niamh] was in the end, but it was really nice because she’s had it since she was a baby so it was really special to get it back.”
