Snow White star Gal Gadot is urging pregnant women to advocate for themselves following a “huge health scare” during her most recent pregnancy.
Gadot, 39, was in her third trimester with her fourth child, daughter Ori, in 2024 when she began experiencing “massive headaches”.
“I was eight months pregnant and it was my fourth baby. This time around I had massive headaches that completely put me down,” she explained on The Drew Barrymore Show.

“I was in bed and I couldn’t hear or see anything. I had a hot bottle on my head and was just like this [lays back] all day, 24 hours,” she described.
Gadot said the headache “just got worse and worse and worse”.
She saw different doctors and neurologists and was told it was “probably a nasty migraine”.

It was Gadot’s mother Irit Gadot who urged her daughter to ask for an MRI.

“None of the doctors sent me to get an MRI, even if we asked for it before,” she explained.
Gadot urged pregnant women to “always advocate for your health”.
“Always. Listen to yourself, advocate for your heart. If anything, you just over-checked yourself, right? That’s OK,” she continued.
“And in this case, went to get an MRI and we were rushed to the hospital. I had a major brain clot.”
But it wasn’t just one clot, the doctors found three.

“And it was the first time that I felt what it meant to be scared to death. And again, had I known better, they could have just put me on blood thinners and done,” she said.
After the blood clots were found Gadot was rushed in for an emergency caesarean to deliver her daughter Ori “within two hours”.
Gadot said if she had gone through “a spontaneous delivery” she would not be here.
A lifetime of fortune: Baby names inspired by luck
Ori was born in March 2024.
“Three out of 100,000 pregnant women will have a brain clot,” Gadot continued.
“But if you feel any symptoms just check yourself.
“MRI is very easy and there’s no radiation or anything.”

Gadot previously touched on her terrifying experience on Instagram in December 2024, the message was shared alongside a photo taken shortly after Ori’s birth.
“This year has been one of profound challenges and deep reflections, and I’ve wrestled with how, or even if, to share a personal story,” she shared.
“At the end, I decided to let my heart guide me. Perhaps this is my way of processing everything, of pulling back the curtain on the fragile reality behind the curated moments we share on social media. Most of all, I hope that by sharing, I can raise awareness and support others who may face something similar.”
Gadot and husband, film producer Jaron Varsano, are parents to Alma, 13, Maya, seven, Daniella, three, and Ori, 13 months.
