Hiker missing from Victorian national park found

Published on

A major search was launched for Andy, whose last name has not been given.

He camped with fourteen others in Murray-Sunset National Park in the northwest of the state.

Yesterday he left the Shearers Quarters campsite alone to walk the 8km Millewa South Bore Track towards the South Australian border at around 11am.

Police, Air Wing, Dog Squad, Mounted Branch and Search and Rescue Squad officers, as well as the State Emergency Service (SES) are searching for Andy.

They were concerned because he has limited hiking experience and has been gone for more than 24 hours.

He sheltered in place overnight and was found unharmed by local police on West Settlement Track at around 1.30pm.
