A new Ikea product has got shoppers talking about it’s striking print design which looks like it could be one of two things, or possibly both.
The ögonlocksmal duvet cover set comes in three sizes with prices ranging from $19 to $39.
Designed by Hannah Wilcox the print looks like an egg but also a flower prompting Ikea to reach out on social media to ask what customers think it is.

“Help us settle this debate… Is the new ÖGONLOCKSMAL duvet cover print an egg or a flower. Have your say in the comments below,” Ikea posted on Facebook.
Many people said the print is an egg and several of those who thought it was a flower have now changed their minds.
“Fried egg is what I saw first,” a shopper replied.

“Egg, which makes it even more cute,” one commented.
“It was flowers until I read eggs. Now it is definitely eggs,” a woman posted.
“Definitely flowers – until I read ‘egg’!!! Either way it’s really lovely,” another replied.
Some did suggest a clever reason for the egg looking like a flower.
“Flower… from the Fried egg plant…” a woman commented.
“There’s a flower called Fried Egg Flower (Polyspora axillaris). So it’s both,” another wrote.

Despite the debate the official answer is an egg because the designer revealed on Ikea’s website that she was inspired to design the print, which is also available as a framed artwork for $39, while cooking breakfast.
“The idea for ögonlocksmal cushion cover and duvet cover, and rödalm picture came to me while frying my egg one morning. The quirky shape and contrasting egg yolk against the black frying pan inspired a pattern that felt bold, playful, yet minimal,” Wilcox said.

“I hope people enjoy the personal touch these objects bring into their homes. It’s about adding a bit of unexpected charm to everyday life, even in small ways. Just like having a simple egg for breakfast sunny side up.”
The ögonlocksmal duvet cover comes with two pillowcases and is made of cotton and viscose for a breathable and soft fabric blend.
To style the egg print bedding, incorporate other décor such as cushions and throws in yellow and white to contrast with the black colour of the quilt and tie in with the egg design.
