The strait has reopened, Trump is celebrating his success and Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a cautious ceasefire.
But if there is no negotiation for both sides, the conflict could flare up again.
The US wants Iran’s uranium, and in an interview with US media, Trump said there would be an “agreement” for that.
Iran, meanwhile, continues to insist that its stockpiles of enriched uranium are not going anywhere.
In his interview with CBS, Trump said there was no plan to use U.S. troops to seize those supplies.
“We’re going to get it with (Iran), and then we’ll get it,” he said.
“We will find a solution together, because by then we will have an agreement and we will no longer have to fight if there is an agreement. Isn’t that great? That’s better.
“If we had to, we would have done it differently.”
Trump said the two sides would meet this weekend.
But Iran responded by saying there was no deal and there was no chance of one.
“Iran’s enriched uranium will not be transferred anywhere; transferring uranium to the United States has not been an option,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told state news outlet IRIB.
“Iran’s enriched uranium is sacred to us, just like Iran’s soil.”
