‘It doesn’t feel real’: Model Dominique Elissa shares her heartbreak as she reveals her mother has died less than two weeks after her wedding

Australian model Dominique Elissa has shared her heartbreak, revealing her beloved mother Odile Faludi has died.

Dominque, who is also an influencer, revealed the sad news on Instagram with her thousands of followers, revealing her late mother passed away on Tuesday.

Less than two weeks ago, her mother attended her wedding. Dominique helped fulfil her late mother’s dream of walking her down the aisle by getting married at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital where her mother was a patient.

Sharing a short video of the pair together on her wedding day, Dominique wrote: “18.03.25 This is heartbreaking and it doesn’t feel real 💔”

“Less than 2 weeks ago we celebrated our wedding, and yesterday I had to say goodbye to the most incredible woman who ever walked the planet.”

“My mum has always been my greatest inspiration, fighting with grace, always saying that negativity is worse than cancer.

“She was a glass half full sort of person until her last moments, showing strength and resilience that I truely can’t comprehend. Rest in peace 🕊️.”

She added a flashback photo from her childhood of herself with her late mother and wrote: “Truly the best mum I could of ever asked for.”

“Your spirit will live on forever. You fought with grace till the last moment <3.”

She received words of condelences and support underneath, with Bachelor star turned podcaster Laura Byrne writing: “I am so deeply sorry for your loss.”

“How special is it to have had a mother who you loved and loved you so much. She will be forever with you.”

Zoe Marshall added: “There’s no loss like this. I’m deeply sorry.”

When she got married, Dominique said it was her mum’s dream to walk her down the aisle and be there for her on her big day.

“My mums dream since I was born was to walk me down the aisle and we did everything to make it happen, even if it meant getting married at the hospital,” she wrote.

“Mum always said the biggest decision you’ll ever make is who you spend the rest of your life with, and that always stuck with me.”

She went on to call her mother her “greatest teacher and inspiration”.

Her mother battled stage III rectal cancer and squamous cell carcinoma before her death.
