King Charles news: King’s cheeky life advice to 101-year-old veteran and Lancashire visit

King Charles shared some cheeky health advice with a war veteran during a visit to Lancashire in the UK.

Charles, 76, who is also titled the Duke of Lancaster, was attending a ceremony of the keys outside Lancaster Castle on June 9 when he met with 101-year-old Richard Brock who served in the D-Day landings at Normandy during World War II.

The pair had previously met during the monarch’s visit to Normandy in 2024.

This time, King Charles was heard asking Brock how old he is, Hello! reports.

When Brock told him he is 101, the royal said: “You’re fantastic!”

He then said: “Keep drinking the whisky!”

Royal fans gathered at the castle to greet the king including some young fans who appeared thrilled to meet the royal.

The monarch’s visit to Lancashire was also shared on the British royal family’s social media.

“It was wonderful to meet so many members of the local community at Lancaster Castle this morning!” the post read.

“The King, who is also The Duke of Lancaster, has taken part in the traditional Ceremony of the Keys at Lancaster Castle! This tradition dates back to 1851 when the keys to the Castle were presented to Queen Victoria.”

It ended with: “His Majesty also met members of a Fijian Choir, formed from the First Battalion of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment.”

In the video shared with the post, Charles was seen greeting supporters of all ages, smelling cheese, being presented with ceremonial keys, visiting a wool display, and viewing a local beverage display.

It was a busy day for King Charles who also visited the Royal Windsor Flower Show at Windsor Great Park with Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Charles is a passionate gardener, growing both flowers and produce on his properties. His favourite flower is reportedly the delphinium, and he is the royal patron of The Delphinium Society.

The flowers bloom in summer in the UK and they are at almost every home he owns including Highgrove in Gloucestershire, and his properties in Scotland, including Castle of Mey, Dumfries House, and Balmoral.

Charles held onto her firmly as she righted the situation before touring the show.
