King Charles resumed his public-facing duties overnight after a number of engagements last week were cancelled at the last minute following a health setback.
His Majesty presided over investitures at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, days after his brief hospitalisation for side effects of his cancer treatment.

The monarch was taken by car, as opposed to ambulance, to The London Clinic last Thursday and “required a short period of observation” before returning to his home of Clarence House later that evening.
King Charles was said to be in good spirits after his return from the clinic and continued to work on state papers and made calls from his study.
As a result of the side effects, palace doctors reevaluated the monarch’s diary, cancelling a raft of engagements that had been planned in Birmingham on Friday.

“He very much hopes that they can [be] rescheduled in due course and offers his deepest apologies to all those who had worked so hard to make the planned visit possible,” a Buckingham Palace statement said on Thursday night (Friday AEDT).
It’s understood the events were cancelled to give the monarch extra rest and recovery time ahead of his planned state visit to Italy later this week, which is expected to continue as planned.
However, part of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s original trip – a state visit to the Vatican – has been postponed, on account of Pope Francis’ health.
