Kmart bubble dinner plate: The $39 buy – and Gustaf Westman dupe – saving shoppers

Published on

Kmart has released a dupe of designer tableware that has sent shoppers into a frenzy.

The dupe everyone is talking about replicates Gustaf Westman’s originals for just $39 dollars a set.

Westman is known for his modern yet sentimental, chunky kitchen utensils designs that add a playful touch with their round edges and puffed designs.

The new additions to Kmart’s tableware are swirling around social media, with TikTok posts reviewing the product and encouraging others to “run to @Kmart Australia for the cutest bubble plates.”

With their cute aesthetic, some were wary of how functional these funky plates are, asking, “Okay, but do they fit in the dishwasher because I can’t commit to hand washing them.”

Buying a single plate from this designer brand would cost customers more than $90 (not including shipping) for a plate that is hand-wash only and cannot be microwaved.

At Kmart you can buy the ‘Bubble 12 Piece Dinner Set’ for a fraction of the price, and they are both microwave safe and dishwasher safe.

The plate and bowl set comes in a bubblegum pink color and stacks seamlessly, replicating the satisfying original design.

Kmart offers other similar kitchen products that you can get your hands on to embrace the colorful bubbly goodness.

You can purchase a set of six matching bubble tumblers that also add a pop of pink with their bubble base for just $12 to add to your collection.

There’s also a $5 Bobble Mug and a $10 Seafoam Décor Bowl with Rounded Edge, based on the soft pastel look.

Shoppers are loving the new range with one comment referring to the tableware “I have them too, love them” and “Ahhh I need more colours!!!”.

Another customer said: “Thank you for featuring this queen as I have a problem with never liking the picture on the box. I would never have bought this but now I do.”

The maker replied: “the box doesn’t do justice to this color”.

Now Kmart not only supplies the affordable fake designer kitchenware, but also sells MyerVue Bubble Dinner Plate in Bubblegum for $19.95 each.

And for €24.99 – currently on sale for €14.99 – Salt & Pepper has jumped on the trend with their Finn Dessert plate 23cm.
