A man has been charged following an alleged arson at a home north of Brisbane spread to others and destroy them.
The fireworkerupted just before 2pm yesterday, when a 36-year-old allegedly used an accelerant to set fire to a house on Weaber Street in Clontarf, before fleeing the house.
The house quickly went up in flames and was later destroyed.
The fire was so intense that it spread to two neighboring houses, destroying them as well and forcing an evacuation of the surrounding streets and closing them down.
About 34 firefighters were needed to prevent the fire from spreading to other homes and to bring it under control.
No injuries have been reported.
The 36-year-old man from Dakabin was found and arrested by a police dog team shortly after the fires started.
He has now been charged with arson and domestic violence.
The man will appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court tomorrow.
