Man charged after wild brawl at Sydney soccer match

A man has been charged after a wild brawl broke out during a football match in Sydney’s south-west, with an 18-year-old reportedly bitten in the back.

The fight started at around 3.30pm yesterday during an under-17 boys’ football match at Amour Park in Revesby.

Police were told that a number of spectators entered the field following a fight between players in the match.

An 18-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for further treatment for various injuries.

These include a bite wound on his back.

After the investigation began, police arrested a 47-year-old man from Greenacre.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court next month.
