Although this video is very real, the couple was present at the center of a bizarre AI storm during their visit to dozens of Australian brands, pretending the royal family had “visited” them as a way to gain publicity.

Luke, owner of Nina’s Cucina in Melbourne, jokingly shared an AI image of the royal family eating at the cafe after seeing other establishments doing so.

The Instagram photo was viewed more than 800,000 times.

Most people immediately knew it was AI, but a few were fooled, at least at first glance

“We were getting calls from Canada, from family there, angry that we hadn’t told them the royals were visiting our store,” Luke told nine.com.au.

While one angry commentator accused the company of making people think the Royal Family had dined with them, Luke said this couldn’t be further from the truth.

“We just wanted to bring some love and light to what is a very dark world right now,” he explained.

“There’s no malice or intent to actually make people believe we had them here.”
