Meghan Markle’s social media posts showing herself and Prince Harry “together being happy” has been labelled a clever tactic by royal author Robert Jobson.

Jobson speculates the couple released the photos following Prince Harry’s “knee-jerk” BBC interview in an effort to repair their image after Harry’s comments “didn’t land the way that they had hoped”.

The royal author made the comments on the latest episode of A Right Royal Podcast with Andrea Caamano and Emmy Griffiths.

“They very much are together, even if it is a brand,” Jobson said of the couple’s recent anniversary post.

“They never stop talking about their love for each other. They appear as very much loving parents, so sceptics be damned.”

The shows hosts and Jobson spoke of Meghan’s anniversary post which pictured photos of the couple on a board, speculating that it’s really interesting that we’ve had a very quick succession of positivity.

Jobson added: “And they needed it”.

“It was a very knee-jerk interview and he probably regretted it,” Jobson continued.

“That interview didn’t land in the way that they had hoped. They have gone out and obviously created these moments or designed opportunities for them to be seen and for the story to move on.

“And I think that was absolutely the only thing they could have done.”

Harry, 40, sat down with the BBC after losing a court case over his security arrangements in the UK, saying he was “devastated” at the ruling which made it “impossible” for him to return to his homeland with his wife and children.

“I can’t see a world in which I’d be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he said.

The Duke of Sussex also outlined the extent of his estrangement from his family.

During the interview the royal said that he would “love” to repair the rift with his family, which he said had broken down over the security issue.

Harry added that his father, King Charles, “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”.
