Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex shares best business advice after successful launch of As Ever

As Meghan, Duchess of Sussex basks in the success of her newly-launched lifestyle brand As Ever, she shared the best piece of business advice she ever received.

Though she says she heard it years ago, the 43-year-old told Inc. that it has stuck with her the entire time.

The royal advises, “If it takes five minutes to do it, do it. Otherwise, you end your day with what feels like a laundry list of things to do, as opposed to being able to tackle them in real time.”

She says that the approach has the added effect of honing one’s intuition and incorporating it into the decision-making process.

“It also encourages you to trust your gut on a lot of those decisions that can be made in real time and don’t require as much ruminating,” she said.

“Sometimes you have to get really quiet and really trust what feels right for you and your brand and go back to the intention of what you wanted to put out in the world.”

The Duchess of Sussex’s first drop of food products such as fruit spread, flower sprinkles, honey, teas and baking mixes sold out in under an hour.

The company even reports that the most expensive item, a $USD 28 (approx. $45) jar of wildflower honey with honeycomb, sold out in under five minutes.

The royal says that getting to this point in her entrepreneurial journey saw a lot of “twists and turns”.

She added that she looks to her fellow female founder friends for inspiration, such as Serena Williams, founder of Serena Ventures and Wyn Beauty, Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, and Tachta founder Vicky Tsai.
