Meghan Markle has shared the truth about her jam-making passion, saying she was initially reluctant to showcase her special skills.
The Duchess of Sussex made the comment during an appearance at the Time100 Summit with Time CEO Jessica Sibley on April 23.
Meghan, 43, said she had “always” loved to “make things in my kitchen, do small flower arrangements, make a lot of jam”.

But it was when she began sending some of her creations as gifts that it was suggested that this special skill set could be the makings of a Netflix special.
The duchess cited Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria as telling her “there’s a show here”.

”I hadn’t at the onset thought that was something I wanted to share in that way,” she said, adding “creatively we worked as partners to really find a way for it to land and for me to be able to share it and just have fun, which I think is really the goal in this chapter”.
The result of this collaboration was With Love, Meghan, which dropped on Netflix on March 4. Season 2 is now in the works and set to air later this year.
In the series Meghan demonstrated various hobbies including making a cake, designing gifts for houseguests and hosting a children’s tea party.
Following the series airing, the royal launched a range of products under her new brand As ever which included a raspberry ‘spread’.

Speaking about her various projects, including her recently launched podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, the royal said each of her achievements are ”as equally important to me as Archie losing his first tooth this week, which is about to happen, and I just hope I’m back home in time for it”.

“It all matters,” she continued.
“And when you look at your life from that perspective, which frankly, being a parent is the most illuminating perspective because what is so, so big somehow becomes microscopic in importance to what’s happening with your children.
“That’s certainly how I feel. You just make time to do it all, and I think maybe that’s what is the dream.”
