Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland has made a surprise appearance on her Instagram.

The pair tasted a new dessert from the Duchess, shared to coincide with the launch of Meghan’s As Ever product range overnight.

In the clip, Meghan put the finishing touches on the dessert called ‘Chantilly Lili’, named after her daughter.

“Whipped up a special dessert with @nytcooking as we celebrate the launch of @aseverofficial today! Goodness is moments away,” she captioned the post.

“In the meantime, enjoy the recipe for our ‘Chantilly Lili’ – a delicious dessert named after our darling daughter. So so so good. As special and sweet as she is.”

Prince Harry and Meghan are parents to two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

The dessert is reportedly “based on a banana pudding recipe of Meghan’s grandmother” with the addition of seasonal fruits from the duchess’ garden.

The recipe includes a vanilla pudding recipe, a list of fruits and Chantilly cream.

New York Times Cooking describes the dessert as adding in the “sweet-tart sting of strawberries macerated with lemon”.

“She happens to have a passionfruit vine in her garden, and its yellow seeds make a nice, juicy garnish,” the publication explains, adding that the desserts can be “made in individual glasses for a party, or a big bowl for a family night in”.

In the clip Doria ate a spoonful of the dessert as Meghan watched on, immediately commenting on the passionfruit.

“It’s good without too,” someone off camera comments.

Meghan agreed, “It’s really good without because once you get to the bottom you taste all the banana.”

Meghan watched anxiously as her mum tasted the dessert, clearly waiting for some sort of feedback.

“Is that a look of joy?” Meghan eventually asked.

“It’s joy,” Doria reassures her daughter.

“I’ll tell you when I’m done.”
