Meghan Markle podcast: Duchess of Sussex shares sweet detail about daughter Lilibet during debut podcast episode

The Duchess of Sussex has shared details about her children during the debut episode of her new podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, out now.

Meghan, 43, sat down with Bumble founder and close friend Whitney Wolfe Herd, with the pair sharing details about their mum lives with children of similar ages.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are parents to Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three and Whitney Wolfe Herd is mum to sons Bobby, five, and Henry, two, with husband Michael Herd.

Meghan shared that daughter “Lili” still naps.

“She gets picked up early and she naps and she only has a half day in preschool,” Meghan shared.

“So if she wakes up and she wants to find me, she knows where to find me,” she continued. “Even if my door is closed to the office, she will be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives. And here we are.”

Meghan said she “wouldn’t have it any other way”.

“I don’t want to miss those moments,” she continued. “I don’t want to miss pickup if I don’t have to. I don’t want to miss drop off.

“And I think what I do love the most about having young kids in this chapter while I’m building is the perspective that it brings,” she said. “Because you’re building something while your child’s going through potty training.”

“Even if my door is closed to the office, she will be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives.”

She also revealed she rewards Lili during potty training with “Cheerios” and tells her “Well done!”

Meghan spoke about her first meeting with Wolfe Herd and her husband and friends on New Year’s Eve when they were on their way to dress up party and was wearing a “rhinestone disco crystal ball cowboy outfit”.

“And to this day, Archie still will say, ‘When do I get to see the cowboys again?'”

Wolfe Herd described Archie as being “so tiny” at the time and both Archie and Lilibet as “so sweet”.

“And I think Archie ran out in like a Batman suit or … PJ Masks,” Wolfe Herd recalled.

Meghan asked Wolfe Herd about her boys.

“Okay, so Bobby and Henry are a little bit older now, but also still in the same age bracket as Archie and Lili,” Meghan said while asking about Wolfe’s experiences as a working mums.

The pair shared their post-partum pre-eclampsia battles during which Meghan and Harry made an obligatory media appearance to share the birth of Archie in 2019 at St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle.

“And I was like, ‘Oh my God, how is this woman doing this?” Wolfe Herd said. “How is this woman putting on heels and going and debuting a child in this beautiful outfit in front of the entire world?”

The Duchess of Sussex has has a busy 2025 with the launch of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which has been renewed for a second season.

She also launched her As ever lifestyle brand, with the first items going on sale on April 2 and selling out in an hour.

And now the debut of her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, on which she will interview female entrepreneurs.
