Meghan Markle writes secret e-mails to Archie and Lilibet every day – here’s why

Meghan has shared a special project she has undertaken for her children.

In one of her most candid interviews to date, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, revealed she’s set up secret e-mail addresses for her son Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

She explained on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast that she then planned to send e-mails to them throughout their childhood to purpose as a “time capsule” in future.

“One of our mom friends said to me last year that she created secret email addresses for her kids that she’ll give to them at some point in their life. She would just send to them random pictures, the pictures that you aren’t going to put in a frame,” Meghan said.

“I thought it was such a great time capsule to create for them because I used to have scrapbooks and photo albums, but we’re past that generation now.”

Meghan added that she writes the e-mails “almost every night” before she goes to bed.

They include their report cards, funny moments, photos of them eating breakfast and other moments that constitute “the things that you’re not going to frame, things that you’re not going to put pen to paper in a journal”.

“But they will end up at one point in their life, maybe when they’re 16 or when they’re 18, that I say, ‘Here’s an email that I’ve been keeping for you,'” Meghan continued.

“For them to be able to look back and go, ‘Oh my gosh, she has loved us so much!’

“It’s not about the grandeur of a gesture. It’s about, ‘I see you. I’m nurturing you and I see you so deeply. I love being able to see your growth.’ I’m just so proud of them.”
