Michelle Obama’s brother Craig Robinson’s brutal first impression of Barack Obama

Michelle Obama‘s brother, Craig Robinson, has revealed his hilarious first impression of her future husband, Barack Obama

“So Mich starts to date Barack, and we don’t know who this guy is, we’re just like, ‘Barack? Who’s got a name like Barack?'” Robinson recalled on IMO, the podcast hosted by the brother-sister duo.

“And I’m thinking, ‘It’s gonna last a month, like most of your relationships.'”

Michelle, 61, then pretended to take offence to the joking comment, saying, “That’s not true. I’ve had many a long-term boyfriend.”

“I wouldn’t call those guys boyfriends,” Robinson, 62, replied.

He then shared their mother Miriam Robinson’s reaction when Michelle brought the future US president over to the house to meet them.

“I remember Mum’s first thing was, ‘Oh, at least he’s tall!'” he shared.

“That was her first thing she said, because Mich was usually posting up her other boyfriends.”

“And I said to myself, ‘Too bad it’s not going to last.'”

Thankfully, the first impression didn’t last, and the pair married in October 1992.

Michelle and Barack have been married for over 30 years and have two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.

Robinson’s confession comes weeks after the former US first lady addressed the rumours about her marriage, which have gained traction over the past few months.

Speculation of a divorce started earlier this year when Obama attended multiple key events solo, including President Jimmy Carter’s funeral on January 9 and Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

“The interesting thing is that when I say ‘no,’ for the most part, people are like, ‘I get it,’ and I’m OK,” Michelle said on the latest episode of Sophia Bush’s Work in Progress podcast.

“And that’s the thing that we as women struggle with, disappointing people.

“So much so that people, they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.”
