New data from pet insurance provider Petsy shows that Cavoodles are the most popular dog, especially in New South Wales where the most policy holders are.

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and poodle cross first arrived in Australia in the 1990s and has quickly become popular thanks to their cuteness and low-shedding coats.
However, the breed faces a number of health issues according to Petsy policyholder data.
The most common concerns facing Aussie Cavoodle owners are gastrointestinal and digestive disorders, ear disorders, skin conditions, eye disorders and anal gland issues.

The rise in Cavoodle health issues has been put down to unscrupulous breeding practices so owners are encouraged to get their Cavoodles from reputable breeders.
”Cavoodles may be Australia’s sweethearts, but too many are being bred without regard for health or ethics. We’re urging owners to dig deeper and ask the tough questions, choose your breeder wisely, and protect your pup from day one,” Monica Limanto, Petsy founder, said.
