Bunnings, Cadbury and Dettol are some of Australia most trusted brandsas shown by the results of a consumer survey.
Reader’s Digest officially announced the results today, with a total of twenty brands on the list, including Twinings tea.
Australia’s most reputable companies are stepping up their efforts to support consumers amid changing economic pressures, according to the 2026 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Survey.

These brands have made the gains by “maintaining trust during a cost of living crisis“through their “relentless focus on relevant innovation, real value for money and, above all, authenticity”.
Cameron Gentle, managing director of Catalyst Consultancy, said “the best performing brands understand that tightening the wallet has changed the way Australians shop”.
“Blind brand loyalty is no longer enough,” Gentle added.
“Instead, consumers are much more careful in assessing whether a brand truly lives up to its word through consistent innovation and proven reliability.”

While past reputation alone wasn’t enough to make it onto this year’s list, some household icons managed to maintain their strong position, as Dettol and Panadol perfectly demonstrated in first and second place on the list.
Both remain essential staples in Australian homes and have consistently won their categories every year.
Toyota came in third place and has held the title of Australia’s most trusted car brand for 27 years in a row.
Bunnings came in at number four and was a firm favorite in the ‘Most Iconic’ category, praised for its affordable range and presence in the community, thanks to its legendary sausage sizzle fundraisers.
The Weber BBQ range jumped to sixth place this year, making it the winning BBQ brand for 13 years in a row.
Australia’s most loved chocolate brand is Cadbury, in seventh place.
For those who want a cup of tea with their chocolate, Twinings landed at 10th place, while Sanitarium Weet-Bix is Australia’s most trusted cereal brand at 17th on the list.

Reader’s Digest commissioned independent market research firm Catalyst Consultancy & Research to survey 4,187 Australians in a mixed demographic.
Participants were asked to name and rate their level of trust in brands in 67 categories. They rated brands on a 10-point scale and chose a category winner, who provided qualitative feedback on their choice.
