“Brian [Hopton-Jones’ partner] was staying at Henry’s home and would meet us there,” she said.
“He helped Lily into the car and waved between our car and Henry, who was in the garage.
“Within seconds, our son was run over by our car. I was driving.”
She revealed that their neighbors quickly arrived on the scene to help before the couple took Henry to hospital.
”X-rays of his legs, chest and neck are all normal. CT scan shows no injury to his organs or spinal cord. The neurological examination is reassuring and there are no signs of head injury or disability,” she wrote.
“He has fractures in his pelvis that will take time to heal, as well as some abrasions.
“We keep replaying it and trying to understand how this could have happened when we were there. I don’t have that answer.’
Hopton-Jones urged parents to ‘hold hands’ or ‘hold hands’ on their children near cars
“I can’t even fully wrap my mind around how different this situation could be right now,” she added in her caption, before sharing a video of Henry smiling as he was treated at the hospital.
“We could drive ourselves crazy with the what ifs, and honestly, we kind of are. But accidents happen,” her caption added.
