Podcaster Amanda Hirsch reveals truth behind Meghan’s surprise note

A podcaster has revealed the truth behind a surprise note she received from a royal.

Two months ago, Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast host Amanda Hirsch shared she’d found a note in her mailbox from none other than Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

Hirsch had left a comment in January on a trailer for Meghan’s new series, With Love, Meghan, admitting she was “scared for Meghan”.

In response, the Duchess sent a handwritten letter which read: “Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared. Don’t be! This is the fun part – let’s enjoy it.”

Hirsch has now revealed in a new interview the letter was apparently Meghan’s idea.

Speaking to Page Six Radio, the podcaster opened up about her exchange with the royal, admitting her initial comment on the trailer was “sincere in that I’m concerned”.

”I know how people come for her, and I’m genuinely scared she’ll be ripped to shreds.”

She then spoke about the world’s positive response to Meghan’s note. 

“People loved it,” Hirsch said. ”People thought it was, like, she’s being snarky.”

“She has a sense of humor. She gets it. She’s zoned in, she’s tuned in, she’s on the beat.

“I think it was genuine from her,” Hirsch added.

“I talked to some people that know her, and they confirmed and they said, “Yeah, it was her idea to write you the note after she saw.”

“She said ‘we should start sending notes’, that’s what I was told. And then I got the jam.”

Shortly after, Hirsch was sent jam from Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As ever.

Hirsch first revealed she’d received the note in posts to her Instagram Story in March.

“Like, obviously framing this,” she wrote, adding she was now a “fan for life”.

“Beyond shook. Beyond spiralling. Did I smell the paper? Yes! Do I want my own monogram? Yes. Am I absolutely flabbergasted and obsessed. F—. YES.”
