Police to provide update on Gus Lamont case as search continues

South Australian police will this afternoon provide an update on the search for evidence in the case of missing four-year-old boy Gus Lamont.

Chief Inspector Darren Fielke of the Major Crime Investigation Branch is expected to address the media at 3pm local time from Oak Park Station, where officers have carried out a renewed search following recent heavy rain.

It is currently unclear what the update will be.

9News understands that police hoped the recent rain may have uncovered possible evidence, including the clothing Gus was wearing at the time of his disappearance eight months ago, such as a large-brimmed hat and a Minions shirt.

Police are targeting locations that were inaccessible during their previous visit to the property in March, when flooding occurred.

Gus was last seen on September 27, 2025 around 5:00 PM on a sand hill near Oak Park Station.

He has not been seen since and his disappearance is being treated as a major crime in South Australia.
