When the royal family gathers in two weeks for the long-awaited wedding of the late Queen Elizabeth’s eldest grandson Peter Phillips Unpleasant Harriet Sperling there will be one notable exception: his uncle.

Andrew Mountbatten-WindsorIt is unlikely that the former prince, who was spectacularly stripped of his HRH and princely titles last year by this brother King Charles over his links to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, will not be among the guests who will see Phillips walk down the aisle for a second time.

While Andrew, Phillips’ mother’s younger brother, Princess Annetook center stage when he married Autumn Kelly in 2008, the Daily mail reports that it is “unlikely” he will be on the guest list this time.

The couple will marry on June 6 in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in the Cotswolds parish of Cirencester.

The church was chosen for its proximity to Gatcombe Park, the estate where his mother Anne, the Princess Royal, has lived for 50 years, and where Phillips and Sperling also currently live.

But while the Daily mail reports almost the entire royal family on their big day, Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly not invited as the monarchy continues to distance itself from the fallout surrounding his long-running association with Epstein and other matters, such as his spectacular arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

No charges have been filed yet and he has always denied any wrongdoing.

Among the guests likely to attend are Peter’s mother, the Princess Royal, and her husband, Sir Tim Lawrence, Phillips’ uncles King Charles and Queen Camilla, and Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

His sister and brother-in-law Zara and Mike Tindall will no doubt be there, as will Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, who share a close bond with William’s cousin.

It remains to be seen whether Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, will be invited, and if so, whether they will show up.

Princess Beatrice has a country home in the Cotswolds with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with whom she shares daughters Sienna and Athena.

They are tainted by their parents’ connection to Epstein.

A trove of documents released by the US Department of Justice earlier this year included correspondence between their mother, Sarah Ferguson, and Epstein.

The gushing emails revealed that Ferguson, then known as the Duchess of York, continued to maintain a close relationship with the sex offender, years after she said she cut ties with him and often relied on her “supreme friend” for loans to finance her lifestyle.

One email, dated July 2009, came just five days after he was released from prison and showed Ferguson arranging lunch with him for herself and her daughters.

It is not known whether the lunch took place.

In a March 2010 email, Ferguson told Epstein that Princess Eugenie was away for a “fuck weekend.”

In another email from July 2010, Epstein asked Ferguson if her daughters would be available to greet his goddaughter while she was in London, and asked the princesses to arrange tours of Buckingham Palace.

Their father was also prominently featured, including several photos of him kneeling over a woman lying on the ground.

He also sent a Christmas card with a photo of his daughters to Epstein, long after he claimed to have cut off contact with the sex offender.

Inclusion in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.

Both princesses had kept a low profile this year and missed important royal events, such as the annual pilgrimage to Easter Sunday Mass.

Eugenie, who recently appeared at a society wedding in Italy before announcing she was pregnant with her third child, has her own problems.

She announced earlier this year that she was stepping down as patron of an anti-slavery charity she has been involved with for seven years.

According to the BBC, Eugenie’s departure from Anti-Slavery International came after the Charity Commission confirmed it was “investigating concerns” about a separate charity, The Anti-Slavery Collective, which the Princess co-founded in 2017.

This week the BBC reported that the Charity Commission had opened a new case with the Anti-Slavery Collective over concerns over spending.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Charity Commission told BBC News: “We have opened a regulatory compliance case at Anti-Slavery Collective to continue to review concerns raised with us about charity spending.”

The BBC said it was clear the measure did not represent a statutory investigation, and the agency had made no findings or conclusions, nor was there a timetable for how long the investigation will last.

Royal correspondent Richard Palmer told the Daily mirror In March, there had long been questions about how the sisters financed their lifestyle.

‘There was also a time when Beatrice had about fifteen or sixteen holidays in one year and earned just about that. [AUD$35,000] per year,” Palmer said.

‘Where did all that money come from? Presumably some kind of trust fund.’

There is no suggestion that either princess was involved in any illegal activity.

But Palmer said he thought the time would come when they would lose their titles.

“It’s already confusing for people to be princesses who are non-working royals, because they have titles, but they don’t do anything for the monarchy, they don’t do anything for the nation,” he said.

‘They are essentially just private individuals who are given the privilege of being a member of the royal family.

“But they will probably have to say goodbye to some of those privileges that they have enjoyed for a long time.”
