Prince Archie sixth birthday photo: Meghan Markle shares new photo of son Prince Archie for his birthday on May 6 2025

The Duchess of Sussex has shared a new photo of her and Prince Harry’s son, Prince Archie, to mark his birthday.

Archie celebrated his sixth birthday on May 6, which also happened to be the second anniversary of the King’s coronation.

Meghan, in sharing the new photo, also revealed she and Prince Harry threw a party for Archie at the weekend.

It is one of just a handful of photos the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared of Archie since his birth, rarely showing his face in a bid to protect his privacy.

Writing on Instagram alongside the photo the duchess said: “Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie!

“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six!

“Where did the time go? (And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special)”

Meghan included a red love heart emoji in her caption.

There are no comments as the duchess has turned the comment ability off for all of her posts since returning to Instagram in January.

The new photo was shared as King Charles and Queen Camilla marked the second anniversary of their coronation by unveiling two new state portraits at the National Gallery in London.

The new portraits will be on display until June when they move to their permanent home in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace.

The duchess did not attend the King’s coronation two years ago at Westminster Abbey following backlash over a number of media interviews where she had criticised the royal family. Archie’s birthday was also flagged as a reason for her no-show.

Meanwhile, the latest episode of Meghan’s podcast – Confessions of a Female Founder – is out, with the duchess revealing she turned to an Ayurvedic doctor when pregnant with both Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Meghan said she used the ancient Indian tradition of alternative medicine and how it was about seeing “food as medicine”.

The duchess also spoke of the benefits of “adaptogens”, such as the plants, roots and mushrooms used in herbal medicine.

But she admitted that some people consider the approach a “little psychedelic and super woo-woo”.

Her latest guest was Hannah Mendoza, the founder of Clevr Blends, an instant organic lattes company that Meghan has invested in.
