Prince Louis missing two front teeth in adorable new portrait for seventh birthday

Prince Louis has marked his seventh birthday with an adorable new portrait released by Kensington Palace on Wednesday.

The young royal is seen beaming broadly in the shot, taken by photographer Josh Shinner, showing his missing two front teeth.

Little Louis is seen wearing a khaki jumper over a white check shirt, paired with blue jeans, and looking very grown up.

Hours after the photo was shared on Prince William and Kate‘s social media accounts, the couple shared a sweet behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot.

“I can jump down from here,” Louis can be heard telling the photographer during the 20-second video montage, shot by the Kensington Palace social media team.

The little prince is seen jumping off the log of a fallen tree as he runs around the bushland setting of the outdoor shoot, which took place earlier this month.

The cheeky chappy even came up close to the video camera and pulled faces, showing the spirit his uncle Prince Harry became known for as a kid.

Over the years, the Princess of Wales has been the one to photograph her children on their birthdays but in recent times, the family have brought in photographers for the formal portraits.

This marks only the second time the family have released a professional photo for Prince Louis’s birthday.

The other occasion was in 2023, when William and Kate chose a shot by Millie Pilkington, featuring Louis’ mum pushing him around their Windsor backyard in a wheelbarrow.

Prince Louis is understood to be celebrating his birthday at home with his older siblings Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, nine, as they enjoy their last day of school holidays.

The fourth royal in line to the throne, who is affectionately called “Loubugs” by his parents, is in Year 2 at Lambrook School, where George and Charlotte also attend.

Prince Louis was last seen publicly on Christmas Day 2024, along with the rest of the wider British royal family, walking to and from church in Sandringham.

The new photo of the young royal comes just days after the Wales family celebrated Easter together privately.

The family also skipped the Easter Sunday service in Windsor, alongside other royals, for a second year in a row.

They were forced to forgo last year’s mass after Kate was diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer and began undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
