Clothes, shoes and handbags worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales, are going to auction next month in what is expected to be one of the biggest sales of items belonging to the beloved royal.
Many of the pieces have never been to auction before, offering buyers an unprecedented opportunity to own a part of history.
Nearly 30 years after her tragic death, Princess Diana remains a fashion icon and anything connected to her is highly sought after, often selling well above expectations.

This time, famed auction house Julien’s is behind the historic sale, with more than 300 items going under the hammer.
The auction will also include couture garments from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, historic items belonging to Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother, and royal treasures dating as far back as the 19th Century.
Julien’s announced the auction in early April but details were limited, with just one garment owned and worn by Diana included in the media release: the 1988 Bellville Sassoon floral day frock, widely known as her “caring dress”.

Why royal women can’t get enough of polka dots
The style of handbag was originally named the ChouChou and was gifted to Diana by Bernadette Chirac, the First Lady of France, in September 1995.
Due to its popularity being associated with the princess, and Diana’s love for the style, the bad was renamed The Lady Dior.
While many of the pieces for sale in June are items donated from friends and colleagues, others were originally sold by Princess Diana at her famous 1997 Christie’s auction when 79 of her most iconic gowns went under the hammer, raising $5 million for charity.
