Princess of Wales carries on Queen Elizabeth’s legacy, dressed in Victoria Beckham

Catherine, Princess of Wales has carried on the legacy of the Queen Elizabeth II in London on Tuesday.

Kate presented a prize for British design named in the late monarch’s honour at an event hosted by the British Fashion Council.

The stylish royal, who is a regular champion of British brands on her global stage, again wore a prominent local designer - Victoria Beckham.

The 43-year-old looked stunning in a $2950 matching olive two-piece by the former Spice Girl.

Kate wore the “willow” patch pocket jacket and matching Alina trousers, retailing for $1850 and $1100, respectively.

The princess added a $1300 asymmetric ruffle blouse in ivory underneath the wool suit on the warm day in London.

The mum-of-three rounded off the outfit with tan heels as well as pearl and diamond drop earrings and her engagement ring.

Kate wears the large sapphire and diamond ring a little less these days, which raised eyebrows among fans when she didn’t have it on in her infamous Mother’s Day photo last year.

Designer Patrick McDowell was the recipient of the award, which recognises “designers who are leading the way in  sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the environment”.

“It’s a huge privilege and honour,” 29-year-old McDowell said when collecting his trophy.

“Throughout her tenure she’s been an amazing advocate of British fashion and really flies the flag for British fashion.

“She also looks incredible and is a real style icon. It is extra special to receive an award from her today.
